The bulk of the collection consists of annual files of the BWTA from 1951 to 1972. Included are annual and executive meeting minutes, 1911-1964; annual reports, 1924-1972; annual files, 1951-1972, containing incoming and outgoing correspondence, pamphlets and reference materials on advertising, industry standards, public relations, price supports, government regulations, statistics and foreign trade. Also includes bulletins and circulars on prices, market conditions, government regulations, imports, tariffs, and transportation. A file of news clippings, 1917-1951, contains information on BWTA officers, prices, market conditions, etc. Financial records include treasurers' and auditors' reports, 1931-1971; and cash books, 1918-1922. Also includes minutes, 1935, of the executive committee of the Associated Wool Industries; executive correspondence, 1934-1936, and cash book, 1934-1936, of the National Wool Finance Corporation; and minutes of annual and directors' meetings, 1933-1966, of the National Wool Trade Association.

Clyde Bruce Aitchison (1875-1962) was an attorney and Interstate Commerce Commissioner. He was born in Iowa, educated at Hastings College, Neb., University of Oregon, and American University. He began the practice of law at Council Bluffs, Iowa in 1896, and moved to Portland, Ore., in 1903.
